Its the last sexswap news evah! Woah! Issue No.303 is here. It all started in July of 1997. Feels like yesterday. Back then, I didn't have much to say ROFL http://trix.sexswap.com/swap1.html I know many of you have emailed in some great suggestions on continuing the letter. I've teased myself with the idea of a blog or a pay letter. One of the challenges I've faced in the latter years of the letter, is that things aren't changing as quickly online as they once did and so there is not as much to write about. In the early days, there were new tips and tricks and whole new concepts almost monthly. Remember when the following developments were new and hit the airwaves within 2 years of each other...banner exchange, web based email, free hosting, peer to peer file sharing, instant messaging, counters and more. You just don't see crazy fast idea development like that anymore. There are just less killer app type stories and traffic loophole secrets to blab about. This is one of the reasons that I believe its a good time for me to move on.

Since I am off on my canadian summer trip in a few days, I wanted to avoid 1500 spams when I got back. I decided to slap on spam arrest. http://www.spamarrest.com/ I never thought I'd heard myself say I that I sort of miss spam LOL :) I keep going to my email to delete the spams as I do hourly, and there is nothing there! Wow! This stuff works. Its not a perfect solution, but I might even keep using it when I get back. I just freed up 30 minutes a day! Here is my little message that people get. I think it makes it clear enough. I'm always worried that people wont click the link....

"Andy here,
I'm be away in canada from june 27th thru july 3rd and I'm running spamarrest spam filter while I am away. I will get your email if you click the link below and then enter the word in the box. You only have to do this one time ever and then you are in my allow box. This stops commercial spam from getting through. I'll reply when I get back on the 4th. Thanks :)"

so far so good :) I still have to glance at the spam arrest website once or twice a day to see if any wierd stuff got bonked that I want to let through...like maybe and amazon invoice etc. Phil also writes in today with the K9 email filter. This sounds like a terrific program as well.

Google can and does check IP addresses of websites
that link to each other. Websites IPs on the same class C that cross link
are penalized. You could find a host that uses different class Cs for the
websites. One of mine does that. Another thing to mention is that Google
could start checking whois information for domain ownership records... if
the domain ownership is similar between websites that link, they could be
penalized, too. I personally haven't seen this happen yet, but it's
possible.

I was going to write about this earlier today, but didn't get around to it. Saw
the above in the newsletter, and decided to get busy and tap out a few lines.

Non-porn ain't great, but it doesn't suck. Some of my affiliates (on the non-
porn sites) actually work well together. Case in point: Standard Internet
offers heavily filtered exit/entrance pop-ups at about an aggregate of about 5
cents per unique in a 24-hour period. But there's no cookie to stop the pop-
ups, so the folks who are interested in the content (and I *do* run some damn
good non-porn sites!) keep seeing that same annoying series of pop-ups
cluttering the window ... and I'm not getting paid but for the first unique per
24 hours.

BUT! I'm also an Amazon affiliate, and I noticed recently a cool little Hotbar
from Alexa that can be tied to my affiliate ID ... a Hotbar that offers a
*free* pop-up killer.

That Hotbar carries my Amazon ID for all orders through Amazon. :)

So I put the Hotbar offer -- "Stop Annoying Pop-ups" -- on each of the heavily
traveled pages that have the pop-ups. Within a week there's a dramatic increase
in my Amazon orders.

Go figure ... and even better. The more worldwide propogation that Hotbar gets,
the more orders through my ID. A long term, steadily gaining income.

Honestly, though, the income from Standard, Amazon, CJ and AllPosters combined
doesn't come close to my porn income. BUT ... the non-porn income pays my
monthly bandwidth charges -> a dedicated T1 on the U.S. East Coast. And once
again, that makes me :)

On spam filtering.. I gave up trying to please everyone with filters server side. The only filtering that should happen is client side in my opinion. And the best filter I have found by far is K9, it's intelligence is ever growing learning by operators training (which is simple). Installation is simple as well and the memory usage is low. I highly recommend this program, and I highly recommend telling your ISP not to filter your emails. RBL's and lists with words are too broad now to make everyone happy, and any loss of email could mean loss of money.

schema on number of people who can use same username. This is in fact
why Pennywize is worth every penny, so to speak.

So here is the deal...I've toggled every switch and tried every voodoo chant and downloaded every new driver and I can't get Win XP to recognize the on board sound card.... I dunno its odd. I've gotta say though that this is by far the trickest chassis and motherboard combo that I have ever used on a build.....the attention to all of the little details is incredible.....that and brushed aluminum just looks cool sitting on your desk!

First thing I would do is reset the bios and get that overclocking off. Overclocking does odd things and you are gaining very little with the small amount you are doing so why risk the head aches this can cause. Do you have the shuttle CD? I would try reinstalling the sound drivers off it. I have an XP box here...let me see where they hide crap Do this...go to Start > Settings > Control Panels > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager > Sound Video and Game Controllers. look and see if the current driver is clean or Xd out. Does it look installed or does it look missing or wrong
