Whoah - that's such a big move and is going to see Google become even more so the Search Engine of choice. With Blog being so popular at the moment, Google's user base is only going to grow once people have access to realtime Blog searches. The possibility of making a shitload extra bucks from this is pretty clear - I'm signing me up for an account at Blogger.com. It's not like I'm not making the blog content every day anyways - it's just a matter of copying and pasting the Blog section of Lara's into that forum, add a few links (I generally don't have links in the Blog section) and wham, bam, thankyou mam, I can follow keyword trends on a day by day basis. I reckon this is a freaking goldmine for anyone who is good at keyword analysis (you should see the lists of search terms I've collected from people who leave their stats open) and with the patience to do a daily blog. Fuck waiting a month for spidering, manipulate it on a daily basis depending on what's current.

Can't remember where I read it, but it's been strongly suggested this will be the case and will essentially allow realtime searches of blog content once Google moves Blogger.com to their own servers which are a tad more robust. Done right, a Blog trap should be very easy to build - even using non porn search terms and somehow filtering people into your porn traps. Obviously things like the current threat of War are hot topics. Link to a silly picture of Osama fucking Bush (like someone sent me last week), but put it on your own domain and use that page to filter them out to where you want. It's a whole new world of possibilities I reckon and like anything, those that put in the time and effort early on are gonna reap the rewards.

The site is very basic, using Homestead.com site builder software. It is basically just an order page for my fetish items. will soon be selling the site to another fetish seller. . This is great, because I'm a teacher and don't want the risk of being recognized by a parent or another staff member. I am interested in using part of the money to purchase another adult site that I would only have the responsibility of advertising and bringing in traffic. I don't have enough knowledge to build a "REAL" site from the ground up. So I was thinking about using a company that builds adults site for you, then helps you learn how to generate traffic and advertise. I have seen many of these types of sites that claim you can be making $6,000+ a month if you actually do what they tell you as far as advertising. My questions to you: Are these types of companies for real? Do they work? If so, wich ones do you know would be worth my investment? If they aren't, can you point someone like me in the right direction towards owning my own adult site?

hmmm. Generally I do not like companies such as these. I am sure they work for some people, but for most it is a waste of time and money.I just don't think that is true. Why would I charge you $100 so you can make $6000 when I could just do that same thing and keep the $6000? I consider most of these offers to be a rip off. You could try them but I would go in just trying to learn a few bits of knowledge. I would not give them much money and I would not expect too much. Here is one road you might try. Porn takes time to learn and there are there are many different types of site. You just had your first site on a free or low cost host...the next step would be to try a free site or AVS site on a real host, with a real domain that you own. Then the big step after than might be to start your own paysite. I think to that try and start a paysite now, might be too big of a step right away.

You are now even more further ahead than you would be with any of the sites that claim they will set you up The problem with such sites is that they control the domain name, and they tie you into hosting contracts and you will get tangled up in a mess. You want to control your destiny and this is how. You can design your own site pages OR if you need site design, there are many awesome and talented designers that will build you from one to 100 site pages. The other big help with this method is your ISP. Kacy and Stan are amateur site pros. They want you to succeed and grow since they more money when you expand! If you call or email them, they can be a wealth of knowledge. They might charge if you call and ask them 1000 questions but it's worth it in the beginning to get honest and good info.

Once you are done those steps, the real key now is "finding traffic". You then have to spend 90% of every waking hour, try to find hits for your new site and this will generate the revenues.

You could buy content. Lots of places sell it and usually prices start low. It is easier and simpler if you make your own and you don't need much for an AVS site. Many sponsors or affilaite programs like Gamma, Nasty, Oxcash...all offer content if you send the traffic from that content to ther affiliate programs. So if you did a free type site or TGP...you could use their content and then use their banners to try and make money. AVS sites play usually less because they charge less but their prices are lower so you might get an extra signup or two. They allow the surfer access to 1000s of sites so it can be more appealing to the surfer sometimes. Here is a giant list of content providers.

Basically to make any descent money using affiliate programs, I would want to create several small free sites with links to my affiliate program. Then do the best I can to bring traffic to those several sites.

generally yes. But you do not have to have many small sites...you can just have one site and attempt the same things. YES..you are on the right track. Create One or several small sites and then have those sites feed traffic to an affiliate program. You do this by having banners and links everywhere.

If I use an AVS site, I would be better off creating a membership section and offering more quality material for customers to view, as well as update the content regularly in order to retain the customers. I could also have links to affiliates on this site...but most of my money would be generated from membership dues.

Yes. And he AVS sites sort of tell you how to set up the pages so they are blocked for access. you might need a programmer on ISP to help you a little with that. I am pretty sure most ISPs in porn know how...if not, I could hook you up with a programmer to help you out.

I have talked to a designer about creating a professional adult website...and he quoted me a price in the neighborhood of $2,500. The price would fluctuate depending on what I wanted to include in it. He says, he has many traffic tricks that he could use to get it going too. I'm guessing if I created several small sites linked to affiliate programs now....then I could always add a link to my "Professional Site" if I decide to have him build it. This would give the new site a boost in traffic, if I have the affiliate sites well established by then.

yes you could. $2500 sound like a fancy paysite to me. Or is it an AVS site? I wonder what type of site it is. Before you give him $2500, I urge you to get 3 quotes...talk to three designers AND ask for

2. samples of sites
3. 3 referals...of people who have used them in the past and email those people and ask.

$2,500 might be a fair price but I would want a pretty slick site for that. That just sounds kind of high...but I am bias and out of the loop. BUT I know several designers who I trust. Personally...in porn, I honestly believe it is very important to find trustworthly people. Everyone I know...including me, has been ripped off in the early years. The more ripping off you can avoid...the better. Sites are generally not that complex..for $2500..I would want a complete functioning paysite I think...since there are only like 4-10 total pages...and then the rest is content. The big paysites I use...have like 5-10 total pages.

Affiliate Sites: Since I'm on a low budget for now, would it be a good idea to build all these sites using a free host, and just pay for the domain names seperately? I've found a few free web hosts that give you unlimited bandwidth as long as you have a link to their sites on your pages.

yes. TGPs are ongoing...so you built 1-2 TGP galleries a day and submit BUT do NOT play TGPs with your own bandiwidth..you will get killed...you need to learn a lot before trying that.

LINUX NTP ATOMIC CLOCK DEMON from Kevin

With all the Linux talk as of the last few newsletters (along with my own
TARBALL contribution), I thought this one might be a good one to share.

One major pain in the ass I had when I first started using Linux a couple of
years ago was that the date/time, were taken directly from the CMOS upon
every reboot. So even if you had your OS time sync'd perfectly with one of
the atomic clocks, the stinking thing would go south anytime you would
reboot the machine.

So.. I did a little investigating, and found the NTP daemon. Nothing

groundbreaking here.. as it's been around awhile. But let me tell you, this
little sucker works wonders keeping my system's clocks dead on. Totally
helps for cron jobs, etc. to have a good time-synchronizer. And it works as
a daemon, constantly adjusting your clock to an array of time servers you
set in the config... so it never drifts far. From what I understand as
well, it uses very very minimal resources -- for anyone worried about that
aspect. The NTP site is

As for paypal. I was using them as an alternative for sign up's for my website www.wildamateurporn , and www.babesanddildos.com . And making ok cash from them. Then one day I go to sign in and they tell me that my account has been limited. The reason for the limitation ( can not use or get the money out ) is that they had "several complaints of suspicious activity on my account. Upon calling them, I was advised that the limitation was due to not having filled out the Visa reg, and paying them 750$ for it. So if I would just fax them a copy of my bank statement and a copy of my Drivers license and social card, they would get it fixed for me. Now, If you have never heard, someone did that once and pay pal is being sued for cleaning out the persons account. See www.paypalsucks.com for more info on that. Needless to say, Paypal is holding 54$ in my account that I have decided that I will never see. If you need service like paypal, the paypalsucks.com site has at least one other company that advertises the services. I have just not been brave enough to try them yet.

I may have mis stated, but they are being sued for cleaning out someone's checking account. Pay pal does not ever need to see a copy of your account statement... It really had nothing to do with Visa. As for the Visa thing, I paid CCBill my self...When you get a chance take a look at the paypalsucks.com site and read some of it. As for what they did to my account, do you really trust someone who tells you that you are in trouble for complaints, but it can be settled by you account statement being sent to them? That does not make a ton of sense.

No.1 - Ease Of Adding Content
The example I give is my sexswap site...I add 50 pages a year...(old-school html ftp). My cobra site had 70 pages in 2 years...(35 html pages added a year old-school). and my blog Sims fan site has 170 pages in 3 months (blog style, not html editors and no ftp). It is very easy to add to blog sites and so they get MORE content MORE often and are frequently updated

No.2 - Search Engine Magnets
because of the amount of written content, they work very well in the engines. the posts are many random words and get indexed well.

No.3 - Google May Index Them Daily In The Future
The new excitement is that with google buying blogger.com that google will index blogs DAILY, just like NEWS and so blogs will be CONSTANTLY indexed and searchable. This will be HUGE

HOW IS BANDWDTH IN EUROPE from Neil

Do you or maybe any of the other webmasters have any opinion on hosting in Europe as opposed to the USA ? Apparently ping times will be very fast as we would be directly connected to MFN AboveNet. The thing is I've been offered bandwidth by a Dutch company at the main Amsterdam NOC for around $100 per Mbps which is a very good price and much less than we are paying now. Considering we currently use on average a 50Mbps (still growing !) connection we are very tempted to start moving at least some of our hosting over there.

These guys also offered me a single leased server with 600Gb transfer included for $350 / month. Are there any known figures / debates about European vs North American hosting ? If you have any sources about this I'd appreciate reading them. I haven't seen prices like this in the US so I am of course a little sceptical, however I am meeting in Amsterdam with them this week and will take a look around the datacenter.

Spiders don't mind frames but I find that frames often lead to confusion in indexing. I think google tries to correct this but lets try and example with your site. OK, got an example on my first try. Here is a page from you site in december

If I search the following sentence off that page "Eventually I stirred and started dinner", I get the following google results page

Notice the page has been sucked from your frames. You have not lost control of your reader and the traffic. You now need links on your inddividual pages to get the reader back to the main site so you can channel the hits to better try and make money from them. Currently readers are finding you on google, enjoying your content, but not always getting back to where you can best control them and make money off the traffic.

Two Things you might try

1. add links on the top and bottom of each individual entry page. then users can click and you can get them back home.

2. start using blog software like greymatter or moveable type. These are all template based and so your site will look idetical, but not be framed. They have all sorts of templates that get pasted together to pake the main page...headers, footers, left side, right side etc.

Mir had trouble with a brawler last time. Tank has trouble with anyone he does not knock out in 3 minutes or less. Mir should win on paper, but I think everone is pulling for the evil Tank whos is feared and loved by all.
