News Tips Trix
This is the almost weekly
SexSwap News-Tips-Trix and it goes to all members
of SexSwap and SexSwap2 and AsianSwap and GaySexSwap and SexSwap2000
Banner
Exchanges. It contains information on SexSwap, Porn, Tips'n'Trix, and
software reviews for the adult webmaster. I perform all literary stunts
without the use of nets, safety-cables, spell checkers, or grammar fixers,
and this tends to leave the reader in a state of bewilderment...you
will
get used to it.

This could be the biggest
edition of SexSwap News Tips and Trix ever
created. Stories have arrived in extra large numbers. I have been typing
my
lips off as different stories have risen to the forefront. There are
HELLA
stories below for your reading enjoyment. First, get out the big bob
marley
glass and mix up a double Maker's Mark and Diet Coke. Pop up some corn,
its
going to be a good long read ;)
A few weeks back I hit you
with a 'teaser' that I might have a funny story
to share that old time readers might remember from way back in 1998
when I
took a vegas trip to the adult webmaster show. Yes, this was one of
the
rare times when the hermit came out of his cave and partied with
LegendaryLars, MojoMoney, and KidSlick in the fine town of vegas. If
you
get the get the Wall Street Journal, check it out tomorrow morning,
Page 1
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
GURU-O-GIF MAKES PAGE 1 WALL
STREET JOURNAL
<the email>
I almost pee'd my panties when the email arrived. It was a man named
'Joe', page 1 writer for the "Wall Street Jornal". Joe wrote
"andy-- hi.
i'm a reporter for the wall street journal and i'm working on a story..."
"Sanchy!" I yelled
for the wife. We both giggled and howled with glee.
Sanya asked "what does
he want to interview you for?"
I was not sure... "let
me read a little further and find out."
Perhaps Joe wanted to speak
to me about my entrepenerial spirit as
demonstrated with the creation of Swifty Sign. Maybe he enjoyed the
stories
of the "Butcher" and wanted to discuss portions of the cobra
kitcar
industry. Could it be that he read one of my SexSwap Trix newsletters
and
wanted to learn the secrets of finding gold on the web?. Maybe he sees
me
as the next "Warren Buffet and wants me to reveal my patenting
stock
selection techniques!
Joe's letter continued...
" i'm working on a story about flushmate toilets.
i saw a posting on your site about somebody who ran across them at the
monte carlo and ran out and bought two of them. (they were called
"flushmaster" in the posting by guru--is that you?"
<vegas adult webmaster
convention>
I was staying at the Monty Carlo, attending the webmaster convention.
I
went into the restroom and made a doo doo, and then proceded to flush.
This
was no ordinary flush...this was a flush like Niagara Falls!
Kerrrrsplooooshhhh! I thought to myself "wow, this is one damn
fine
toilet." For years I had harbored resentment to the sandel wearing
tree-huggers that force everyone to use low volume toilets in order
to
"save water", yet we all know this saved no water since we
all flush twice!
This Monte Carlo toilet was like a turbo charged water closet. The weekend
continued and each time I used the john, I was fascinated at the extreme
flush action. Finally on sunday, I could not resist...I had to take
that
toiler apart. I had to have one of these beauties. I lifted the porcelein
lid and peered slowly inside. I was a little timid since you never know
what you will see inside a toiler. What? There was no water! Inside
the
tank could best be described as a canadian beer draft ball. There was
a
large pastic tank inside and nothing more. I read every label I could.
Gerber toilet utilizing the Sloan Flushmaster system, all patents pending.
<the toilet>
I returned to Cucamonga and went on the internet. I found Gerber
corporation and called them up. "Gerber...what department"
said Nasal Sue,
the operator.
"I'd like to buy a toilet"
said the excited young man.
"one toilet sir? Or
do you mean one shipping container with 450 units".
"ahhh, just one please..I
like your toilets a lot but not 450 units worth."
Nasal Sue was annoyed that
I was cutting into her water cooler time and
sent me off to sales. Fortunately a very kind woman took my call. Old
Wise
business Marge said in a smoker's voice "Andy, now we don't sell
to Johnny
Q Public, so here is what I want you to do...you call up RayMay Plumbing
and Heating, and tell May I sent you....she'll take good care of you".
Sanya and I hopped in the
dirty Toyota pickup truck, referred to as a golf
cart by some, and made our way down highway 10 to a little shop near
San
Bernardino's restaurant row. Inside we met May, Ray was out on a rotor
rooter call. "May, Marge sent us...she said you will hook us up
with them
new fangled, turbo, Niagara Falls sounding Gerber Flushmasters."
May giggled and said "you
mean like they use in Vegas?"
My eyes got really big and
I smiled "ya! those are the ones!" May said that
Ray's buddy got an entire order for one of the large hotels there, installs
and all and was making bank. May sent us happily on our way with our
two
new Gerber Flushmasters.
The toiler works by capturing
your homes natural water pressure. Rather
than have water in a bowl that flushes with gravity, the big air tank
in
the flushmaster inflates as the water is forced into it at normal house
water pressure. Then when you hit the handle, this water pressure comes
bursting out and into the bowl. Every time I flush I think "take
that tree
hugger!"
When I returned from the
Vegas webmaster show, I wrote a story about the
toiled in the SexSwap news.
trix.sexswap.com/swap22.html
Joe found my story while
searching the internet through google, 5
years later. Joe was just as excited about the toilet as I was. Gus
the
programmer also bought a toilet after trying mine and Joe interviewed
him
as well! The name 'Andy Dunn' will now go down in history as "the
guy with
the turbo toilet".
Wednesdays Wall Street Journals
should have the story on the Sloan
Flushmaster. hee hee heee =)

STORY ON 'KING KARL' OF GAMMA
IN NATIONAL POST from Bruce
Bruce sent in a article from the Canadian National Post on King Karl
(as I
like to call him). Karl is the founder of Gamma. I met Karl in the early
years of of internet porn through a mutual friend named "Frank".
Karl was
working out of his basement and running his one site called Web's Youngest
Women which I think today is called webyoung.com. When I first met him
he
was 18 years old and only pulling in about $70,000 a month LOL Since
then
Gamma has grown steadily. Gamma is now an unbrella company with 25
employees running paysites, content, free hosting, hosting, TGPs, banner
exchanges, affiate programs, main stream consulting and more! I am proud
to
know Karl and feel lucky to have worked with him on several deals over
the
years. By the way, Karl is NOT openly gay as they state in the article
=)
Karl told me that he refused to take an interview from them because
he was
tired and busy. Therefore there is some inaccurate information in the
story.
tinyurl.com/3j8f
It is interesting in that
article, I find the author paints a bleak outlook
for the adult industry. He says we need to worry about dish on demand
movies. I disagree. Magazines and movies need to worry about online.
Nothing can touch online adult sites because they offer the following
items
1. content updated often weekly
2. movies
3. pictures
4. live video
that is very hard to compete
with in traditional media.

BLIND LEADING THE BLIND TGP TALK from Herman
Herman writes
Do you know how these guys are getting signups through their TGP galleries
postings? I sent a bunch of galleries with one banner in the middle
of the
pics and out of 4000 views last month, I got 50 hits to the banner and
no
sign-ups. I'm jealous, confused, and frustrated.
Andy writes
TGP is a game I am not very good at. I have studied it a little, but
I
might of made 1-2 sinups max. It is a tricky game and takes a while
to
learn. I can tell you how I think it is played....but it is what I have
heard...not what I have done. This is a little like the blind leading
the
blind so I'll add this to the newsletter and hopefull some old pros
will
write in =D
1. submit to 500 - 1000 smaller
TGPs a day
2. submit 2-4 times a day on galleries that will allow it
3. continue doing this forever
4. find cheap bandwidth....very key
there is a delay in TGP submission
acceptance and so your posts overlap. It
takes about a month to get to full speed since this is how slow many
TGPs
are to approve your galleries. Now some people I know like free signup
programs over regular ones...perhaps it is easy to get emails for $1,
then
it is to get signups with a CC for $35
some people play it like
this
1. submit to 10-12 giant
TGPs each day where they have priority placement
do to business relationships
3. continue doing this forever
4. find cheap bandwidth.
there are some other tips
that help get gallries accepted. I don't know all
the unwritten rules but some are
1. fresh content is better
2. more pics are better than few
3. only one or two banners
4. 3 TGP link icons
5. most will not accept free hosting or banner echanges banners or popups
6. cleaner is better
7. certain words are not even allowed like 'free'
that info may give you a
start. Again, I am very weak at the TGP game so
keep asking around. One place I hang out to learn is Craig The Programmer's
TGPwizards.
www.tgpwizards.com
His site makes it very easy
to submit galleries to hundreds of TGPs each
day. I feel the key is daily routine and repetition. You must post daily
to
get the overlapping effect and maximum hits. Bandwidth is the demon
that
has to be controlled as it is the biggest cost.
I think your signup rates
will be low like water and so maybe shoot for
1/5000 or 1/10,000, but don't quote me on that. Any old school TGP pros
want to add anything to this? Please email me andy@lips.com Please tell
me
I have my head up my ass if I do :)

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY
PAYSITE from Mark
Mark writes
Hey Andy, just got back from vacation and found this little ditty in
my
inbox. Checked my account, and low and behold, it's been suspended.
Good Christ, these monkeys at iBill are getting fucking ridiculous.
I
just forked over the $750 VISA processing fee to them, too =(
I'm looking for your advice... from here, I can go one of three routes.
1) Start up again with another
processor
2) Ditch the paysite and get back into the freesite game (ugh).
3) Sell off my site and get out of the game entirely.
Option 1 doesn't sound bad,
but what other processor would I go with?
Am I going to start up again and just get fucked in the ass again?
Option 2... I just don't
have the time. I still work my day job =)
Option 3... what the hell
is a paysite worth? Who buys them? Figure
I'm doing about 50k/year in business, no content expenses, just
bandwidth (paying $300/month or so at Janey's). I have a referral
program but that's a tiny fraction of my business, so it's mostly
all profit.
www.celebshop.com/
BTW, I know I've swapped mails
with you a few times over the years.
Andy writes
Option 1
I think this will be the best option. yes it is painful but this has
happend to many paysites over the years and you have to roll with the
punches. Also, you want to move fast to not lose a billing cycle
Option 2
I like this but only certain people like this AND you would lose your
billing cycle so I do not think it is as good of a choice as #1
Option 3
I think it is much harder to sell sites that people think. You could
try
this. I do not think you will get what you want. Maybe if you knew an
interested party...you could see. Paying customers have worth and proving
daily traffic has worth but this is a tough option.
Mark writes
Would you recommend any particular processor? I'd go with CCBill but
I think they are the most likely to have the same problem down the
road... I've heard plugs for globill.com and some of the smaller,
independent
outfits, just worried about getting screwed!
As far as selling the site, the input I've received thus far is that
the
site
isn't worth nearly as much without members. If I want to get a respectable
amount for it, I'd have to go with option #1 and build things back up.
Andy writes
I think you should be prepared for this to happen once a year or so.
Most
large paysites have multiple billing accounts for protection when this
happens. I think both CCbill and Globill are good firms to work with
When selling a site, I personally
value sites at MEMBERS X $25. Take your
total members and multiply it by $25 and I find sites are worth
that..assuming no magical never ending traffic. This number is generally
much smaller than people are thinking. How did I pull this number out
of my
ass? Figure out what you think the average customer is worth. Generally
it
is $50-$65. If the site is stable and not growing or declining, then
your
customers, on average, are halfway through the billing cycle and this
means
that 50% of the revenue is still to come. If I want to break even on
buying
those customers, they are worth 50% of $50-$65 each. If a site has
hardware, and content...that is worth a little but not much. If a site
has
a magical traffic stream...that is worth money but very few sites have
that.
Spend $1000 and get running
again fast. I am assuming you have members you
are rebilling and so days lost is money lost. If you have no members...then
I would again look at #2...but that is just me. I personally do not
like
the headaches of paysites. Paysites can become a ball and chain. My
theory
is that many affiliate programs PAY more than they make and then make
it up
on volume. Lets say a customer is worth $60. Many affiliate programs
pay
$40. You now tell me who makes more? I say the traffic barons make $40
and
the paysite owner makes $20. I rather make $40. The trouble with being
a
traffic man or woman is that it is a "daily grind" and you
must pan for
gold each and every day relentlessly...with paysites..you can coast
more
because of the steady billing.

SEXSWAP $99 LONG-COPY ADS
SELL BETTER
At SexSwap news, each week we offer 3 ad slots (top, middle, and bottom).
I
have always followed the wisdom of the Guru of Advertising "David
Ogilvy".
Ogilvy knew that long copy sells better than short copy. Here are some
quick David Ogilvy tips
www.profitadvisors.com/ogilvy.shtml
Long copy simply means that
you write a lot of information about the
product or service you are selling. You tell the consumer the details
about
your product. We have no text limit on our 3 ads. We want advertisers
to
get their money's worth and to be able to tell webmasters why we should
buy
their product and how it is going to benefit us.
SexSwap news is read by 6000
webmasters weekly via email and the web. Rumor
has it that one or two staffers of the Wall Street Journal even glance
at a
copy now and then =)
We still have two spotsopen
next week and January is wide open with first
come, first servered...and this means you get to pick which of the three
spots you want. If you ae interested, email my main man "Dangerous
Dan" and
he will give you availability date, billing, and he will pencil you
in
