I think though...from seeing similar systems in gaming stats...it will not work because you can never hit a ciritcal mass of people wanting to DL and install such a beast. Interesting just the same and who knows what this will lead to.

I like google better but I think many people play overture and some of the other engines. I prefer the efficiency of the google adwords program. The big reason I like google, is they treat a new "signup" just like an adult site would. They say "ok you're in and your account is active". I feel that Overture assumes we are all crooks first. They take the form and then review it by hand, and then 3-7 days later you are approved. I hate that approach. It is very frustrating and inefficient. Google says "we assume you are all smart folks and you are instantly approved". They then comb through advertisiers each day and catch violations once the programs are running. This seems very efficient. It takes a little while to get used to things and you often make 3-4 TOS violations early on. They send you and emil showing you exactly what is wrong. I then go back and correct the errors. Once again, instantly they assume my errors are good and things are running again.

"Natural Big Tits' and 'Big Tit' would be treated as two different words I believe. I tend to buy a lot of words but I take 2 approches. Sometimes on the very good words, I build one adcampaign for that exact word. This is because I want to write my ad a certain way for that word. I might have 4 ad campaigns running on just single words. Then I make a 5th campaign and I shotgun it withe everything...maybe 300+ words. I find I caan get better click rates some times with that approach since you can have better wording in the targetted little ones. I don't want to put an example of I will give away my ads :)

The only thing missing from google, is a search term checker that shows results from the month before. They show you the word, but not really a number count and so it is difficult to tell if words 1,2 and 3 are close, or if 1 is way better than two or three. You find this out once you time in the money and they giev an estimate.

Google also responds to email in a day or less. They also will listen to you. They denied me on a big word. I wrote them back and showed them 5 pieces of evidence why the words should be allowd. They considered my arguments and allowed the word. Again this was all in 24 hours.

Discussion for a .kids or .xxx TLD has been going on forever but the
question has always been who and how do you decide what content is

I have the usual credit-card and checks sign-ups using iBill and also SMS text sign-ups for European customers. What am I doing wrong? I know you probably get a lot of these sort of questions but I must be an extreme example. Not one sign-up. Perhaps this might be a good example for your newsletter if I agree not to make any changes until you have referred to it in a newletter?

ok, here are some thoughts...please take them with a bag of salt since these are subjective things and based on my opinion. There are just ideas and no one likes their hard word critiqued so don't feel you have to try any of this....they are just ideas. I might add some of them to the newsletter as you suggested.

1. ANY POP-UPS
I noticed you are whacking me with popups for a banner exchange and then on suggesting girls. I am personally against this. I would only try a popup to get a sale when they leave the site or back out. I feel you are hurting your chance at the sale by popping people too early.

2. ENTER PAGES OR I'M 18 PAGES
I am not a lawyer. Talk to your lawyers first. Here is my opinion on this subject. I have never heard of a case, or seen in legal internet books, where clicking on "enter" or "I am 18" proves that I am 18 or 21. What kind of bar uses this system? None...why, because I believe it would not hold up in court. It is simply not proof that a person is 18. ID or a credit card sale is proof a person in 18 (or at least this was proof years ago). What does this mean? It means that an ENTER page or a IM 18 page....is just another chance to lose the sale. Many affiliate programs drop this page with their click links. I personally have never used such a page since I do not believe it will hold up in court and you with therefore be just as liable for what is on the next page. And therefore...make sure you are confortable with the content you have on your main page from a legal persepctive, and just send people to that second page...you will always make more money. Get people to main page in fasted time possible. Again, I am not a lawyer, do not take this advice without consulting one.

3. LEFT TO RIGHT SITE DESIGN ISSUES AND WHITE SPACE
Now this is a subjective design tip. I find sites look messy or hard to read if they go all the way left, to all the way right. I think they look good on a 17" monitor, but they do no look good as pages grow. Pick up your daily newspaper.....do you see how short the left to right columns are? We like to read short distances left to right. Herer is what I see

I personally like my sites very tight on the center. Most people might not like them this tight...but it is to show you the difference in readability

Th simple in easy way to do this is to create a single cell table with no border, and drop everything in. I like a 600 pixel left to right. I think most webmasters now prefer 800. Test and try. Leaving white space on the left and right side really helps readability. I used to own a sign store in a former life...people really do not realize how important "white space" is.

4. TRAFFIC EXCHANGE POPUP
I believe banner exchange banner, popup exchanges, and top lists...these do not belong on the main frnt pages of paysites. These main pages have to be very clean and have the ONE goal to get the customer to sign up. Don't confuse the customer offering him more than one thing to do. He should only be able to buy a membership at your site. Keep these for deeper secondary pages or for when the customer leaves the site. You want to only ask them to join your site...do not give them other options until later or you are losing chances at the sale

5. FRAMES
please no. No frames please. Let me say that one more time....No frames! lol Get that frameset the hell ouf of there. Get your page into regular pages. Frames costs sites money. They are harder to work on, confuse the user, and are harder to bookmark, and get picked up by the spiders in funny ways.

6. VIAGARA ADS
No ads for other things. If you do not have a paysite...then sure...blast people with many ads...but this is your site...only have ads for the customer to join your site.

7. TRAFFIC
I left this until the end when really it is the most important item. It may make the others points moot. What is your traffic count? Raw? Unique per day? If you tell me you are getting 10 hits a day....well you will get a signup in a year and we dont have enoug data to know if your site design is good or bad. If you are getting 100,000 uniqes a day...you better redesign your site if you have no signups.

so your lack of signups may be based on two things
a) site design
b) traffi levels

traffic is at least as important as design. I would MUCH rather have boat loads of traffic and a shitty deisgn, than low traffic and a good design. I have always said...show me a site getting 40,000 front page uniques a day, and I will show you a site making money. Show me a beautiful site getting 3 hits a day, and I will show you a broke photoshop professional.

Traffic wise, I get about 400-500 visits per week and about 1100 page views. (its not good but I have hammered the search engines and have a coupla thousand gateway pages etc so not sure what else to try). Does this affect your judgement (I think I should have at least got a coupla sign-ups for this number of visits so I will definately redesign).

Steve caught one of my math errors, and that looks to be about 9600-12,000 unique front page hits in 6 months. I tend to think that at the low end, at least 5 signups, average maybe 10 signups, and above average 15 signups. Especialy since these are regular hits an not watery hits. that is just picking a 1/2000 low end to 1/800 range for signup strength

as cool as the 1U, this little case has all the tricks. Gary tells me he was able to wedge two huge HDs in with a raid controller and gamer video card! He carries the thing around as his massive gaming box. The box comes with a CPU and I find it is about $100 less than a 1U with mobo. I think Gary also said there is some sortof wild liquid cooling. They even come with a damn firewire port! Next box I build will have to be one of these power monsters in their tiny case. Gary said he prefers the one with the intel chipset. The only thing I would miss on these is that they are not ASUS but I could get used to a new motherboard.

Hey! I found them at Mwave - $285 box and mobo...that is damn tough to beat. The neat thing about these square boxes is that you don't run into the CPU cooling troubles that you get in the 1U since there is more room for the big fans.

I am like a crack addict now in sims online. I cannot get enough and need a fix every day. A few weeks ago I told you that Craig the Programmer and I were fiddling around in the beta.
