A second chance for Pornication.com

Montreal, QC, September 11, 2002 - It was announced today that Pornication.com a well-established name in the live one-on-one industry was sold. After many weeks of negotiation, the transaction was completed between the seller, “Motis, LLC”, and the buyers, “Gamma Entertainment”.

The previous owner, Motis, was faced with many financial difficulties over the last few months. Due to software issues, many webmasters and models stopped promoting the service, which contributed to the decline in revenue. Unable to pay the webmaster’s commissions, the Motis management team had been looking for a responsible buyer that would take over the operation and re-establish Pornication’s reputation.

The details of the transaction were undisclosed, however it was announced that Gamma is a major shareholder in the new Corporation, KBBH Entertainment, which will operate Pornication. The new corporation will closely work with webmasters who are owed money, to receive past commissions over a 12-month schedule. By doing so, they hope to regain the trust of affiliates and repair business relationships.

Over the next few weeks, Pornication’s service will be re-established on a more reliable software, to make the service more reliable than ever. Each Webmaster that is owed commissions will be contacted with more details regarding the transition. Under the supervision of KBBH Entertainment, Pornication will become the moneymaking product that it once was for its affiliates.

Some fun stories are throughout the letter this week. Thanks to all who sent in browser fixing tips. pk found the solution on the evil site itself...they had downloadable repair code. Like that is crooked. Larry also sent in a link to some trick registry scanning software that finds all the crap crooked sites load. This is one damn cool piece of code and I fould like 5 or more other things that needed stripping out. These brower hack repair stories are all below.

Did you see the fight? The De La Joya vs Vargas fight? Has to be a top10 battle of all time. Simply awesome. It was 11 rounds of action. I thought Oscar was going to get tossed into the crowd round one....somehow he helt on by his fingernails and stayed very composed. Whew! The world news continues to be nerve racking. I would like to see less war talk but that continued to be the focus. I believe this is simply making the world economies nervous.

I know doorways arent that new for website optimization. but the number1 script got some advantages: it will create an index structure / tree of all your doorways and all pages are crosslinked. so you dont have to mass submit your pages to search engines, instead you put one link to your index.htm of all your doorways, leaving searchengine spiders the work to index. this works fairly well, especially with google. but you will get results with other searchengines as well. if you choose your keywords wisely (all pages are generated with unique titles and head code from your keywords) you may expect some visitors from searchengines. this month for example i marked vital spider activity from google, altavista in my weblogs which i never had before that way. so give it a try, it is free up to 500 optimized pages (this is a wise number of doorways for one single domain).

I've been messing with that media player stuff as well... several
observations:

1) I ran into the same WMP 9.x garbage you did... I didn't blow the support
call to microsoft, and did manage to get it off of my machine, but it was a
painful 6 hour process... the easiest thing is to not install it. When
installed it also screws up your machine for watching embedded video on
websites...bunches of Visual C error messages... another quality MS product.

2) WMP 9 has ended back up on my machine (I know, I'm an idiot) because I
couldn't find the tools for 7.1 (as you said in your newsletter, they have
taken any mention of them off the website) and the tools for WM 9 require
the WMP 9.x player. (Not the encoder, but the script indexer, etc won't run
without it... you can run the encoder if you still have the 7.1 player)

3) WMP 9 will not play a file that has been renamed (ie. from .wmv or .asf
to mpg), tells you it cannot find the file. WMP also ships by default to
not run embedded scripts i.e. no popups (you have to turn it on, and it is
not easy to find)

Advice: If anybody is going to exploit this means of getting traffic, do it
now before Microsoft suckers everybody into upgrading to WMP9.... (and don't
install WMP9.x until they get the damn bugs out)

Search bars and stuff like that are called Browser Helper Objects or BHO. I downloaded some VB code a while back to remove some on my system and it looks like BHO Cop is pretty much that code so it should work fine. Also found an MS KB article on how to disable them all-together.

Click on 'start' then 'run' type in REGEDEIT (uppercase) click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internetexplorer\Main (you need to open each folder 1 at a time, for the computer illiterate, click on Software, Microsoft, Internetexplorer, Main) then look for the line that says Default_Search_URL

then delete the text between "and" (this'll mean when you press search on the tool bar it'll be blank) or change it to www.google.com/ or whatever your favorite search tool is and then when you click on the tool bar google or whatever your favorite search tool is will appear.

in IE ... Go to view > toolbars and start unchecking each listing. I have a
feeling when you uncheck the bottom blank one it will disappear. However
sometimes the toolbars can get mixed up and ones that are suppose to show
and hide don't correspond to the proper one. you can then recheck the ones
you want. also you may need to unlock toolbars...

well here is a cool one that most people don't even know about. This is actual software and not web based...is that ok? You have probably heard of Microsoft ForntPage. Well when it first came out, a free version of it was available called FrontPage Express. I think it came bundled with 98 or IE3. FrontPage Express is a little old, but still very good for making regular websites. It keeps things simple and there are not too many buttons to toggle. You can still find it at various sites on the web. Here is a page I just found that has it for download

Here is an annoying problem that I had and just recently fixed.

Basically, clicking on links in email and links that create pop-up windows will not work. The simplist fix was to run "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" at the command line. You could also install the latest update for IE6. Very annoying. I was copying and pasting all of my links and editing out javascript stuff.

it's pretty fast at removing
spyware...it will remove that crap from your registry too. The first time
you run it you will be surprised what's on your hard drive. Plus it's FREE!
Hope that works for you. I had a similar bar from wrn.net, ad-aware wiped
